Airbnb Elopement in Muscoda, Wisconsin

River Elopement in Wisconsin

This was one of the coolest experiences of the last year for me!  Colin and Holly decided to elope in Muscoda, Wisconsin, and even though we hadn’t worked together in a couple of years (Holly was a piercer at a tattoo shop I worked at) they asked me to photograph their big day.  So they rented an Airbnb on the river, invited their closest family and friends, and Holly’s best friend Sam did the honors.  It was so intimate and meaningful and such a good time for everyone.  A few especially cool details from the day:

·         Colin’s mom is a Theatre teacher at her school and makes all of the costumes herself.  She put that talent to use and made Colin’s vest for the ceremony.

·         Collin is a Chef with a capital C and made all of the food.  It. Was. Amazing.  I feel bad for you that you didn’t get to experience it.  Maybe the best part of the day.

·         Sam got ordained for their ceremony and we did a besties shoot as the sun went down.

After the ceremony we went into the Airbnb and shot some pool and relaxed.  With the leaves just beginning to change it was a magical, amazing wedding.

Eloping in Wisconsin

Eloping in Wisconsin is a perfect way to have a romantic, intimate wedding without the stress and expense of planning a large traditional wedding. Wisconsin is home to some of the most picturesque landscapes in the Midwest, making it an ideal location for couples looking for a beautiful elopement destination.

The first thing to consider when planning an elopement in Wisconsin is the location. The state is home to many stunning natural attractions, including Lake Michigan, the Wisconsin Dells, and the Kettle Moraine State Forest. Each of these locations offers a unique backdrop for your elopement ceremony and photographs.

Once you have chosen a location, you will need to obtain a marriage license. In Wisconsin, couples must apply for a marriage license in person at the county clerk's office where they plan to get married. Both partners must bring a valid photo ID and proof of residency, such as a utility bill or lease agreement.

In Wisconsin, there are no restrictions on the time or location of your elopement ceremony, so you can choose to exchange vows at any time of day or night, and in any location that is meaningful to you as a couple. Whether you prefer a simple ceremony in a secluded forest clearing or a more elaborate celebration on the shores of Lake Michigan, there are many options available to you in Wisconsin.
